HOA Board Officer Positions and Volunteer Roles

Elections for the three officer positions below will take place at the annual meeting. We are still looking for volunteers to serve as HOA board officers.

  • The President is the chief executive officer of the HOA and presides at all board meetings. The President also coordinates with the Architectural Review Committee.
  • The Treasurer manages HOA funds, keeping financial records for proper accounting purposes. The Treasurer files taxes and is responsible for collecting and managing annual dues. A lot of the tasks have been automated, so much of the work will just be basic updating in the spreadsheets.
  • The Secretary keeps minutes of all HOA meetings, posts meeting announcements on the website, and drafts annual newsletters (currently around 1-2 pages of updates, but can vary depending on board preferences). Templates and past examples of these documents are available for updating.

The current board officers are available to assist with any questions during the transition.

FAQs

I’m pretty busy - how much time would it take?

The time commitment required can vary depending on how the new board chooses to operate. The current board officers have streamlined many things due to being busy parents of young kids, for example:

  • Quarterly meetings have been less than an hour each, and the board officers plan them around their schedules. Board officers have also attended virtually as needed.
  • All board officers have access to the HOA email account and there is an autoresponder set up indicating that messages are responded to weekly.

How long would I serve?

Per the HOA bylaws, board members serve for a 3-year term.

Anything else I should know?

Starting in 2026, annual dues for the three board officers will be waived, assuming no management company is involved.

I’m not sure I’m ready to be an officer yet - is there another way I could contribute?

Join the Architectural Review Committee! Committee members conduct monthly walk-arounds in the neighborhood generally from May to September to help keep our neighborhood looking nice. They also review and approve exterior paint colors and other proposed landscaping/home improvement projects as laid out in the HOA’s Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CCRs).

We are also looking for an Activities Chair to plan fun events like our annual summer social or BBQ
